BODGEPROOF ✓

The bodge stops here.

Keep track of every inspection, certificate and check in your garage

Lifts, jacks, compressors and extinguishers; staff certificates and first-aid cover; daily checks, defects and contractors' reports. All in one place, with your records ready when an inspector or your insurer asks.

For independent garages, MOT stations, and tyre and exhaust centres.

The dashboard of a demo garage: what's overdue and due soon, what to do first, and what it caught this month.

Sound familiar?

  • A lever-arch file of reports that's never quite up to date.
  • A wall chart of dates nobody has filled in since the spring.
  • Ringing the lift engineer, again, for last visit's report.
  • "When did we last test the fire alarm?"
  • Finding out a first-aid certificate ran out on the day you need a first-aider.

Bodgeproof keeps the dates, the reports and the people in one place, and shows what's coming up before it's due.

What it does

The equipment list of a demo garage, with each item's status and next due date, and one item open beside the list.

Equipment and inspections

Every lift, jack, compressor, extinguisher and piece of MOT equipment, with what's due and when. The intervals come from HSE guidance and the law each one cites, and you can set your own. Contractors' reports are kept with the item they cover.

A trolley jack marked do not use because of a dangerous defect, with the defect and what to do about it.

Defects and "do not use"

Anyone can report a problem from their phone, with a photo. A dangerous defect marks the item "do not use" until a manager closes it, and it says why everywhere the item shows: its page, its sticker for your team, My day and the packs.

A week's rota, with the cover row showing a shift that has no first-aider.

People, certificates and first-aid cover

First-aid, MOT tester and other certificates with their expiry dates. The rota shows when a shift has no first-aider, before the day comes.

A lift's daily check on a phone, opened from its QR sticker.

QR stickers and daily checks

A sticker on each item. Scan it with any phone to do the day's check, see when it's next due, or report a problem. There's nothing to install.

Making an evidence pack: who it's for, the dates, and what goes in.

Evidence packs

One pack for an HSE inspector, a DVSA site review or your insurer: the reports, certificates and records for the dates they ask about, as a PDF with the files.

A site's sign-in book: staff tap their name as they arrive and leave, and visitors and contractors give theirs.

Sign-in, fire log and accident book

Visitors and contractors sign in from a poster by the door. Fire alarm tests and drills go in the fire log, and the accident book asks RIDDOR's questions and shows when a report to HSE is due.

What it replaces

Most garages keep all this across several places. Bodgeproof replaces:

  • printed logbooks and folders of inspection reports
  • a wall planner of due dates
  • a paper visitor book
  • an app for your MOT records
  • spreadsheets of reminders
  • chasing certificates and reports by phone

Set it against what you pay now on the pricing page.

Getting started

  1. Tick the kit you have from a list, or load your records into our spreadsheet layout. Add the dates from your last reports, and the due dates are worked out for you.
  2. Stick a QR sticker on each item. We post you tough ones, or you print your own.
  3. Send each contractor a link. They upload their own reports, with no login.

The price

£190.00 a site a year, £100.00 more for an MOT station: two months free. Or £19.00 and £10.00 a month, with no contract. Everyone at the garage is included. Prices are ex VAT.

Common questions

Where are my records kept?
In the UK. They're yours: you can export everything at any time.
What if I want to leave?
Cancel any time: there's no contract. Export everything first, your records, reports and certificates, as files you can open without us.
Is it advice?
No. It keeps track of what's due and holds the evidence; you stay responsible for your garage. Each interval it suggests says where it comes from: HSE guidance and the law each one cites.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It's made for a phone in the workshop first, and works on a tablet or a computer too, with nothing to install.
How many people can use it?
Everyone at the garage, at no extra cost. The price is per site, not per person.
Do contractors need an account?
No. You send them a link, they upload their report, and it waits in your inbox for you to check.
