The DVSA visit log
Each site review or visit and what it found. The findings become defects with the reply date as their fix-by date, so none is left in a notebook.
Maintenance declarations and the breakdown log
After a repair to MOT equipment, the declaration that it's fit for use, signed with a typed name. Breakdowns are logged from the day they start to the day the equipment is back in use.
"Can we MOT today?"
A tester signed in with training in date, the MOT equipment in calibration, and none of it out of use for DVSA's reasons. Yes or no, with the reasons.
Tester certificates
Each tester's annual training and assessment, with the 31 March deadline, and who's able to test today.
Calibrations, QC checks and site audits
Calibrations for the brake tester, headlamp aim tester, gas analyser and the rest. QC checks of each tester's work with the parts of the test checked and the tester's sign-off, due every 2 months or monthly. Site audits against a checklist, with what you already hold shown beside the questions it answers.
Agreed actions
What's agreed at a QC check, a site audit or a DVSA visit goes on one list, with who does it and by when. The person it's agreed with sees it in their day and gets a reminder by email, and the site review pack shows each beside the check it came from.
